Cheryl Holden
Director of Core Programs

Cheryl Holden joined the Ottawa Life Sciences Council (OLSC) in July 2004. Her responsibilities are to develop and oversee programs that support the OLSC's strategic initiatives.

Cheryl brings to the council expertise in federal government relations, health and science policy and extensive knowledge of the health and research sectors. Prior to the OLSC, Cheryl worked for the Canadian Lung Association as Director, Public Issues, which included participating on the SARS Consortium Management Group and in several government consultations related to health policy. Cheryl also worked in the pharmaceutical industry with Eli-Lilly Canada and Schering Canada Inc.

Cheryl has a Master's degree in Physiology specializing in Neuroscience from the University of Manitoba, conducting research studies on spinal cord explants utilizing cell cultures. Cheryl graduated from the University of Guelph with a Bachelors of Science specializing in Genetics and Molecular Biology.
