David Mann
Former Vice-President, Emerging Business Technology Investments, Nortel Networks (retired)

After working for more than 40 years in the telecommunications industry, David Mann retired in October 2001 from Nortel Networks as Vice-President of Emerging Business Technology Investments. In 1989, David received, on behalf of his company, the Queen's Award for technical innovation. Throughout his career, David has been active on boards of telecommunications companies in Europe and North America, and served for several years on the board of OCRI (Ottawa Centre for Research and Innovation), acting as Chair in 1999. He is currently an Advisor to (and the Ontario representative of) the Canadian Association for the Advancement of Science (CAAS). David is also the Past President, Past Chair and now a key advisor to the Board of the Charitable Foundation, FM-CFS Canada. He is a Fellow of the IET, a Chartered Electrical Engineer and a Senior Member of the IEEE. David has lived and worked in seven countries during his career, including Scotland, England, Zambia, Sweden, Spain and Canada.
