Barbara
McInnes
President & CEO, Community
Foundation of Ottawa
Barbara McInnes is the President & CEO of the Community Foundation
of Ottawa. Her involvement with the Community Foundation goes
back 17 years, to its inception. She has played a lead role in
growing its asset base to just under $100 million, disbursing
grants of over $5 million annually, and leading the Foundation
to become a trusted centre for community philanthropy with an
enviable reputation nationally and internationally. A founding
Board member of Community Foundations of Canada, Barbara served
on its Executive Committee for 12 years. In 2002, she chaired
the National Conference and was the mentor for new community foundation
CEOs. Locally, Barbara has been involved in a number of organizations
and initiatives including the Ottawa Estate Planning Council;
Carleton University; the Ottawa Education Foundation; the United
Way and the Ottawa School of Art. Internationally, she serves
on the Transatlantic Community Foundation Network, dedicated to
assisting the growth of community based philanthropy in Europe
and Mexico. She is also actively involved on a number of committees
of the Council on Foundations based in Washington D.C.
