New incentives for donating
The owner of an insurance policy may decide, for a variety of reasons, that such coverage is no longer required. One option in these circumstances is for the owner to gift the policy to a charity in return for a charitable donation receipt. If the policy is not “paid up,” the donor could then make ongoing gifts to the charity to cover future premium payments or the charity would assume this ongoing obligation.
