Watching and reading about the devastation inflicted on thousands of British Columbia residents by relentless forest fires has left people in Ottawa wondering what they can do to help.
It is encouraging to know that the Community Foundation of Ottawa is working in partnership with charities on the other side of the country so that people here can make a difference over there.
The Central Okanagan Foundation is collecting donations to assist those affected by the fires. Those interested in helping can learn more on the Web site:
