Dick Stewart, MSW
Retired Public Servant
A social worker by profession, Dick worked for 33 years in municipal government in Ottawa in front-line and senior management roles. He was the Commissioner of Social Services with the Regional Municipality of Ottawa-Carleton and then General Manager of People Services for the amalgamated City of Ottawa. Dick retired in 2002 and moved to Georgetown, Ontario where he was an active community volunteer. He served as President and Board Chair of Community Development Halton – a social planning and research agency. He was a volunteer member of the Advocacy Committee of the Ontario Municipal Social Services Association, Currently, Dick is a member of the board of the Sector Council for the Voluntary and Not-for-Profit Sector in Canada and West End Legal Services of Ottawa. He is an active Volunteer Associate with the Canadian Executive Services Organization.
