Judith Maxwell, CM

Research Fellow, Canadian Policy Research Network (CPRN)

Judith is the Founding President of CPRN and is now a CPRN Research Fellow. She has extensive experience in both public and private sector think tanks and has a national reputation as a leading thinker on Canada’s social and economic policy choices. A member of the Order of Canada and a member of the Board of Directors of BCE Inc. Judy has been awarded honorary degrees by seven Canadian universities. She has received a number of awards, including the Honorary Membership Award of the Vanier Institute, the Trudeau Mentor Award and the Saskatchewan Distinguished Service Award. She was Chair of the Economic Council of Canada from 1985 to 1992. Earlier in her career, she worked as a consultant in the UK and Montreal, as Director of Policy Studies at the C.D. Howe Institute and as a journalist.
