James (Jim) serves on the Boards of Power Corporation of Canada and the Canadian Pacific Railway Company. He is Vice-Chair of the Board of Governors of The Ottawa Hospital and serves on the Board of Management of the Canada Revenue Agency and the Board of Directors of the Canadian Patient Safety Institute. Jim is a former board member of Community Foundations of Canada and the Human Resources Committee of the National Arts Centre. He served as President & CEO of the Conference Board of Canada from 1978 to 2001 and has received its Honorary Associate Award, the Conference Board's highest honour. He holds an honorary doctorate from the University of Ottawa.
